Lithology and Thickness
Volcanic. In the reference section it consists of porphyritic basalt with microcrystalline ground mass. It varies from 10-105 m.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Unconformable contact with the metamorphic basement complex or Bamangaon Fm.
Upper contact
Unconformable contact with the Tura Fm.
Regional extent
It is exposed along the southern and eastern fringes of the Mikir Hills and in well Barpathar #1 in Dhansiri Valley.
